I figured out the quickenings system anyway. At first I saw this timer going down as my dude was doing attacks, and I saw hints of buttons and options flash by in the 3 second or whatever time span, and I was like NO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO BE DOING HELP!!!!!!!! It turns out, you apparently don't have to do anything, especially if you just have one dude with an available quickening. Just let the timer run out and he'll attack the enemy's weak point for massive damage. It's if you have other players with quickenings, you apparently let the timer run out as close as you can, and then hit a corresponding button for the other players, and it'll switch to their quickening and so on stringing them all together, and when I had 3 characters do their quickenings all together like this it ended with another big ass bonus quickening for like a combo bonus. It didn't do as much damage as it could because I was just mashing the buttons.
There might be more to it but that's all I know so far. Gamefaqs is appropriately worthless in this area. Same for the giant number (in the thousands) that's next to the timer in the menu screen. Gamefaqs of course doesn't have anything on what this is supposed to be. I looked real hard and after a crazy Gil Grissom experiment (I closed the menu, took a step, then opened the menu) I found out that it's the footsteps counter. Again, something that could've been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
