The first 30 minutes or so of the game is.... CG and reading. The CG is am-ma-ma-ma-ma-MAZING! In fact the whole game is so super-saturated with pretty. It's like they're apologizing for FFX2. The plot is epic instead of stupid, however it suffers badly from The Evil Administrator complex, where every efficient and skillful administrator is automatically a bad guy.
That you have to get licenses for things like putting on coats and armbands only underscores the essential evilness of bureaucracy.
Vaan/Tidus/whatever looks like a beautiful girl. Penelo/Yuffie/Rikku looks less like a beautiful girl than Vaan does. And what is up with Square's secret weakness for thieves? Always the fuckin thieves and orphans and BLAH BLAH. I guess Yuna was a spoiled princess who had an important daddy and we all see how that ended up.
The play system looks way complicated in all the walkthroughs, but actually it's not. :) FFXI freaks in my circle of acquaintances inform me that if you played FFXI, you already know how to play this game, which is basically FFXI offline.
MINUS FOR: FFXI-style moogles. What the fuck??! You clownshoes better bring Mog back quick or else I'm NOT BUYING NO FUCKING ARTBOOK. |
