I have the $550 Acer model. It's... okay. Get extra RAM and the extended battery to go with it. However, make sure you take good care of it because it does not take abuse well. Also, look into a screen protector - chunks of paint from the laptop will end up embedded in the screen. If you don't get the new battery, prepare to hunt for a wall socket. It's not as glamorous or as fast as the other laptops, but it'll do okay. Just make sure you have the extended warranty and a lot of patience.
