The aforementioned Vanguard (the giant grim reaper) can be tough if you play him wrong (i.e. not by whaling on his ass with melee attacks) because if he starts pulling out his dash attack it's pretty hard not to take damage. This Cerberus isn't that easy, either, unless you kill him the cheap way like I do. I also thought Nevan was hard. =(

Lady, OTOH, and Shadow Dante were both pathetically easy.

I'm not sure why objects sometimes give you orbs and sometimes don't. It may have something to do with wrecking them mid-combo. I've definitely noticed in the orb-farming dojo (the first level) that if you wreck the drumkit in the midst of beating bad guys up they yield orbs, but if you just wreck them they don't.

You surf on the guys if they're knocked all the way down and you jump on top of them. It's not too useful, though it does get you all the way across to the other end of the room, which I found useful in a couple of scenes where I couldn't get past a bunch of archers while fighting a bunch of prides and sloths without taking hits. It cranks your combo meter up, which is nice.
