and I bought a nice (for me at least) Anatech case, which made mounting the drives a breeze. And what a breeze, from the giant fan out the back of this case. I might crawl past the big rotating blades from time to time and pretend I'm in the air duct of a video game.
PROS:
Quiet! There was a high pitched tone when the video card is working on some 3D, which I noticed when the computer was on top of the desk. Solution: put the computer under the desk! I can't tell if it's on or not when I walk into the room.
And what case might this be. When I was poorer I had to purchase a $25 case which was apparently specially crafted to amplify the slightest sound to deafening levels, even after I lined it with professional grade sound dampening material (the kind they put in car doors to keep your ears from bleeding while driving down the highway), so it sounds like I'm starting a motorcycle. I would like a case that might reduce the noise in my apartment to near silence (I use headphones) to really drive home how cold and alone I'm going to die. |
