The FAA is reviewing their banned list. by casual observer 12/04/2005, 12:39am PST
It has to do with radio emitters interfering with the signals coming in for the VOR transponders and such. That aside, they don't really know if it affects those systems at all, and are debating whether to allow the use of these electronics on board.

More to the point, Nintendo's probably playing it safe with the hospital regulations, but such shit can happen with these devices that could (potentially) screw up vital sign monitors out the ass, in particular EKGs.

Best bet? Get her a PSP, some racing games, and a bunch of movies; be done with it that way.

I hope she has a swift and uneventful recovery.
