Is this a confirmed problem, or a suspicion? I've had my PS2 in both positions over the years, and few games have given me problems. Ico will no longer read (a true shame), and it occasionally took great effort for Xenosaga to boot up (though once I got it working it ran fine through the whole game). I have a 30001 and the prospect of it dying is frightening me, what with the impending release of San Andreas and other possible gems. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I wait for it to die or just get some EB credit for it while I can? Bought the thing in Feb. '01 from a Target, but that doesn't make much difference.
