| ...and I come back to find FABIO and I agreeing on something? Holy fuck.
Insert all of FABIO's commentary, only realize it develops a socio-political bent later and never ever connects many dots. It doesn't want to and I like that. I revel in the fact that it doesn't have to be incredibly fucking didactic. The way it all plays out is in an episodic format, each section a discrete narrative switching off between episode which directly advances the plot and those that merely have tendrils of the main story arc. And fuck is it weird. FABIO doesn't even scratch the surface. Sometimes it reaches a level when the crazy-loony ideas have been inserted purely to maintain the atmopshere presented before it, but everything is consistent and incredibly polished. In that it earns high marks. Although in true FABIO-sucks-at-all-games-and-will-till-the-end-of-time form, ignore his bullshit about needing to go through the tutorials. Everything one needs to know is graciously apportioned to you as the game progresses. And wah-wah, you have to read a lot. Which really is only the first two levels that are really nothing more than a tutorial. But none of you will like it, not FUCKING ONE of you, as evidenced by the fact the only two copies sold purchased by Fabsy and myself. So while I know FABIO's gaming license should be forever revoked, I love him for being a big, bright, shining star just this once. |
