| Too bad there isn't a MW forum.
This game is fucked up. The mechlab is strewn with unimportant useless MEANINGLESS garbage. The best example: endo steel. Switching the frame to endo steel frees up a few tons which means its pointless to use any other frame, therefor making it pointless to need to switch to endo steel at all, but even better if you try and switch back it says you can't because you would be left with less than 0.00 tons free or some shit (thats if you have very many tons free). And having to pack on requirements of ammo, to ensure you don't start a mission with empty guns, that could/will explode at random is like punishing the player for not just loading on all beams and heatsinks. After trying to configure all the junk eventually the shitty broken mechlab starts to become impossible to keep track of because its like a big clogged up stockpile of invisible useless shit and unnecessary functions jamming the screen with no scroll bars, then the tunnel vision sets in. The damage system is totally incorrect because somehow you can recieve a critical hit and instantly have a section of your mech instantly destroyed and force you to try and either play the rest of the map without some weapons or retry the map. It's like singleplayer CS except every bullet that hits you takes away some ammo or a weapon, and you can respawn more quickly. And if you play through a mission and fail you don't get back the ammo you used up. So far I am on mission 3 (thats like 10 maps or so into the game) and am making slow progress. MW4 is beyond this in every catagory except the variety of mechs and equipment which is a small price to pay for a well made game. |
