My sole mission in BF2 right now is shoot down people like.
My new favorite tactic - head to a flag (or respawn at it because I just killed by a helo) where I figure the helo is heading next (I've got a good sense of where they are going next usually). Hide behind a building or conex as anti-tank, with a jeep positioned nearby. Wait for the helo to start hovering over the flag, pop out and launch a rocket into the side door where the gunner sits. This will almost always kill the gunner facing you (with the bonus of seeing him, and possibly one or two of his buddies nosediving into the ground), leaving that flank vulnerable. Hop onto the machinegun of the jeep and finish off the chopper.
