2. What the shit happened to the single player? I remember BF1942 giving you like ten million different setting options for single player, now my choices are limited to "rookie, veteran, expert" on a handful of maps locked at 16 players (you and 15 bots). I read that they weren't going to put much thought into single player to make the internet experience better. Fine, but christ why don't I get all the maps? Why MUST i always have 15 bots? I'd rather they just let you play on empty maps. I can't even practice flying because my jackoff bot teammates keep taking off with them (just like human opponents!). The manual says to use the single player to practice with vehicles, only the bots won't let you. Even if I manage to snag a jet I run straight into an enemy jet on the tiny 16 player map and get shot down before I can even practice some maneuvers.
They apparently couldn't get the bots to work properly any other way. So they made them work on about 10 maps and restricted it to 15 to allow the AI to properly function. I would say this is just laziness on their part or something but perhaps the battlefield bots are much more troublesome than the ut bots.
It's not that I want more bots, I want less. Just a couple braindead target dummies like you could summon up in BF1942 so I could figure out bullet psychics and damage models. Populate the whole map with just 4 bots so you'd have your pick of the vehicles so I could goddamn practice with them without my AI buddies hopping in and taking off with them or enemy jets shooting me down 3 secodns after takeoff.
So, what you're saying is, the tutorial is too hard for you. |
