| I drove to Sydney for the weekend. My mother's recovering from surgery in a hospital there, so the clan all decamped to crowd around her and keep her company. The drive was *fun*. With good roads and no passengers, I was free to push my rickety old car as hard as it would allow. I'd never done 155kph outside an aeroplane. Now, unfortunately, I'm waiting to see if speed cameras work at night. Fingers crossed.
The actual stay in Sydney was uneventful. Apart from sitting with my mother and reading my textbook on symbolic logic (which inspired an anti-Semitic joke in Antonius that I'm too embarrassed to repeat) I mostly explored the neighbourhood where I was staying. Took a long walk down Paramatta Road at night. That was exciting, but a little scary. I took it easy on the way back since it was raining. I'm glad to be home, and my car was so glad that it spun around in a little circle. Isn't that adorable? (I tried to take a corner a little too fast and my tyres said "No." No-one rammed me, and I appreciate that.) So that's that. More details available on request.
