The butt fucking monkey issue in Powers a couple months ago either shows that Bendis has the largest set of testicles by any writer, ever, or it's a blatant attempt at creating the comics equivalent of "the Emperor Has No Code (© BDR)." I'm slightly leaning towards the latter, but after the quality present in the book over the last three years he's earned more than enough reader trust to do an issue like that.
(For those who don't follow "Powers" -- after writer Brian Michael Bendis unleashed all hell in the comic, he started a new arc which took a look at the first super-powered battle in history, which was done by a couple of apes fighting over alpha male status. No regular characters appeared as themselves in the book, although it was eventually indicated that the protagonist of the previous 30 issues was descended from one of the apes.)
