Good point. Just because I'm more immediately bitter at the flawed RPG I just bought does not make it right to get all nostalgic about the godawful games of the past. I apologize. I will say, though that FF is apparently getting rid of random encounters is progress, if not enough to make the game playable rather than sufferable.

Maybe the Bard's Tale, then? Demon Stone is nonsense as far as RPG elements are concerned. Goddamnit. KOTOR II?
