| Although I am sure you need no warning, stay the fuck away from Wild Arms 3. It is in some ways even worse than Xenosaga, since the combat system actually has some legs and the levelling does as well, but the plot and contrived situations (you are forced by plot to hand to your (obvious) worst enemy a ridiculously powerful item to ensure that the following boss battle is a pain in the ass OR to cooperate with your rivals to do incredibly gay minigame like puzzles to pass a dungeon so they can betray you and fuck you over OR you get the idea) are even more intolerable than XS. Not to mention this game has dialogue that is in ways more cliched and hello kitty feelgood, with a wild west wannabe twist. The minigame shit I mention is required in every dungeon of this game, forcing you to do puzzles on par with an awful hybrid of rubic's cubes and chocobo racing.
I give it the lowest rating possible: "I, who beat Xenosaga despite it being awful, gave up on this one halfway through". |
