Last time I checked (Iraq war), the order of conservative to liberal went something like this:
FOX
CNN
MSNBC
ABC
Guardian/all other euro newspapers
With ABC sort of aiming for the 'balanced' view, at least they were incredibly neutral for an American TV network during the war - I remember Peter Jennings criticizing Bush on a few occasions.
So my question is why would the conservatives string up their own people? Because in throwing CNN to the wolves on any journalistic ethics issues that seems to be what they're doing. I've almost never seen anything from CNN that makes me think of them as 'liberal', certainly.

String up their own people? For someone who so enjoys self-referential irony, it is almost painful to watch you apply political labels with absolutely no consideration of your own political views as a factor in your judgement. CNN and its various left-wing anchors may be to the "right" of you, but that still puts them squarely at the "left" of even the centrist bulk of the American populace.
Which is a good reason why Fox with its false conservativism does well despite its almost comically tabloid appearance....
Many conservatives and right-wingers, just like many leftists, have certain principles which they *will* usually make a scandal over. When that ties into foreign policy goals of the past and present as neatly as this does, there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't go on the warpath against CNN.
CNN got its big break by hurling its reporters into Baghdad in the first Gulf War. Little wonder that unscrupulous execs would go to even greater lengths than the slimeballs at the various other networks to ensure access.
The real question is what they are continuing to hide with their bureau in, say, Havana.
Just out of curiosity, are you going to declare the New York Times a conservative bastion next? |
