I watched the original last night (1951) by pinback 10/22/2024, 11:37am PDT
It's very highly regarded, so I came in with an open mind, even understanding that it was just gonna be a guy in a suit.

It had one effective 5-second scary moment with the door. I found the rest of it ponderous, with a bunch of wise-cracking jerks cracking wise and being jerks the rest of the time, plus the horny babe which had nothing to do with anything (though, I'd do 'er.)

Everyone just yap-yap-yap-yaps the whole time. Nothing ever happens until the last half hour, and then only barely does anything happen.

I struggled to find any redeeming qualities. Perhaps it was "good for its time", but that was a pretty lame time, if so.

Caltrops, what did I miss? I'm throwing a fit over here!!
