I haven't bought too many CD's lately; I seem to be in a downswing as far as my musical interest goes. But here are my recommendations anyway:
Dismantled - Dismantled: If you like industrial, you will love this album. I have a ton of industrial stuff, and when I heard these guys I was blown away. You can check out their website if you want a peek.
Apoptygma Berzerk - Welcome To Earth: This is not typical of their other albums, which is why I like it. It's rather poppy for an industrial album, and their other stuff is way more techno. Still, this album is one of my favorites.
I could go on and list tons more of my favorite industrial bands, but moving on...
Eminem - The Eminem Show: Well this is the only album of his that I have so far, but I really like his stuff. I have no idea if this is the best or the worst or what, but it seems to me that you can grab any one of his CD's randomly and enjoy it.
Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies: Surprised I haven't seen this on anyone's list (unless I overlooked it). Punk Irish folk in the spirit of the Pogues. Great stuff, and a must-have especially for those times when you're not quite sure what to listen to.
Mudvayne - L.D. 50: My cousin sends me metal stuff sometimes, and these guys I actually like. I know they have a newer CD out, but I have only heard one song off it, and while I like it, I can't say how the rest of the album is. Their songs are put together well, and their lyrics (although sometimes typical) are worth a listen.
Besides "anything by Nirvana", "anything by the Smiths", and "Old 97's to round out your pop bluegrass", I think that covers it for now.
