| Which can be gotten from $110 to $150US depending on where you shop. ATI always did video better then others. You could probably find a 8500 for less but i wont vouch for the drivers on any of the older shit. I will tell you that the drivers for my 9700 pro (windows) are rock solid. Also that the 9000pro that came in my Mac drives dual 1280x1024 LCDs beautifully. Not bad for a "bargain" card. Since you don't want pixel shaders and DirectX 9 functionality, I think you will be happy with it.
nVidia has something new coming down the pipe, but so far it only exists on web sites and magazines. I will let other fags overwhelm you with benchmarks and shit. |
