| A few weeks ago my platoon got split off from the rest of my company and sent down south. We are now guarding the "new" Abu Grhaib in the extreme south of the country. It's a total joke here, and there is not much to tell. After all the prisoner abuse scandals the leadership is totally gunshy about anything at all ever happening to anyone anywhere, and the whole camp is a godamned circus.
Small example: If a prisoner asks for a shovel, they have to give him one and let him use it for 30 minutes. A shovel. Anyway I hate this fucking place and am trying my damnedest to get back up north where I can have a real mission again. Also, KBR totally runs this place. To the point of absurdity. And I do not like it. Up north we did everything ourselves and got by just fine. Down here KBR does everything, and to get anything done you have to go through them. They aren't needed and to me they seem like they are more trouble than they are worth. It is nice getting ice cream at dinner though. |
