I played my first Serious Sam last year, and it was this one. Not bad! Definitely worth a buck fifty. In fact, I liked it enough that as soon as I finished, I immediately went to download the remaining games... only to find out they'd been pulled from the Xbox storefront. Apparently because Croteam's console publisher went out of business and nobody could figure out how to keep their shit on sale anymore, now that it's as easy as not unplugging a hard drive. I had to order a copy of the Serious Sam Collection from one of those clearance DVD warehouses, and when it got here the shrink wrap had the wrong kind of corners on it. You know what I'm talking about. So you can look at this purchase as an investment against having to deal with any shady warehouse types in the future, should something unfortunate ever happen to Croatia. They're the Tim Curry of countries, you know it's only a matter of time.
There's a cheevo for finishing that Running of the Kleers level without saving, I think it would look good on whichever shirt you silkscreen your bossest cheevos on. I had to tear the arms off mine to make room for bigger arms. As always with this game, the trick is rocket jumping somewhere they can't touch you, and plinking them to death with your infinite ammo pistol. Shh. |
