It's not that their new favorite film is lousy and full of paper-thin main characters who are at best a lousy amalgam of marketable traits from a human being, an estimate of 'heroic person' so rough as to at best seem weird enough to be mentally impaired.
It's not that the company that makes them purposefully did this because their marketing department said the target customers would respond better, even going so far as to suggest she's a heroic shout-out to an ill-starred disabled demographic of mongoloid basement-dwelling TDARCOS tards (no disrespect intended, doctor tacos).

Way to let the creator off the hook for either fucking up or writing to your shitty expectations, the lowest common denominator of a variable representing a maximized profit margin. Cinema's not a cynical business, Lucas doesn't have four billion to prove it. This is just something Disney did so modern-day Timy Tims could have a plateful of Christmas goodness. This can't be an optimization problem for transferring prole wealth to corporate pockets.
You know, I don't mind that people love The Force Awakens but there's no need to treat it like pig-slop from a trough AND lionize it at the same time.
