| is the main character. Everyone at the school, including her, is supposed to be 18 but she doesn't look a day over 13. Every other student character in the game looks their age except her. It really gives the lesbian romance a creepy Lena Dunham vibe.
I AM A GIFTED PHOTOGRAPHER!!! Ah, photography. The favorite creative pursuit of the lazy wannabe artist, thanks to having the lowest barrier of entry to deluding yourself that you have any talent. She doesn't buy all this "digital" swill they feed to the masses, she's rocking her retro analog camera! So, some old formerly high end film camera? Fuck that, sheeple! I'm rocking my $20 Polaroid One Step! Most of my photos are selfies (that I take in the middle of lecture!) despite costing $2 each! F-stop? Exposure? Lenses? Photoshop? Photolabs? What are those? Holy fuck I can't imagine how fast any serious photography program would boot you out for that shit. It's the equivalent of taking a 3D animation class and handing in some colored pencil doodles on torn out notebook paper for your final project. We're supposed to believe the main character got a full ride scholarship with this shit? She acts totally shocked that other students are constructing portfolios and sending their work off the galleries. They could have (and should have) just glossed over this stuff, but they try really really hard to constantly tell you what a natural genius the main character is at photography. They drop a bunch of names that you can get in 5 minutes of wikipedia reading, but it's wildly obvious the writers have no clue how the medium works. Whenever a character's photos come up, they intentionally blur them out into abstract shapes because they have no clue what makes a compelling photo. Write what you know, fucks! |
