| Back when I was excited about it, they were talking up the persistent universe as a potential goal. This was back when they had made just a few million dollars, and they were focused on making a great single-player experience. Now they don't even talk about Squadron 42 (the original idea) and all their focus is on the ships you can pay real money for today.
Back in the early days, they offered lifetime insurance for any ships you bought. Now that they don't have that feature available, I have no idea why people are still paying for ships that you WILL be able to buy in-game for earned credits (you know, for actually PLAYING the game?!) The whole thing reeks of piling on ideas as they came, and hoping a cohesive product is the result. If Squad 42 doesn't suck, I'll be happy. The rest will be interesting, but most likely will be a pile of ideas and pay-to-win assholes. If you're not in yet, I'd hold off until they actually have a game you can play. |
