It was okay enough if only because it was so gorgeous. Off the top of my head I can't name a single slick heavy visual effects movie in the past 5 years besides this and Gravity that didn't fall back on orange/blue.

But it's not great because you've probably seen other movies before.

Someone wanted to make a big budgets version of Moon, so they stole that premise. Next up it had to be more actiony, so take the setup of Moon but make the story Independence Day. Finally, hire Morgan Freeman to play Morpheus. Make sure Terminators break into the human resistance base at some point.

It amazed me how far they went to copy everything from Moon. BAM! They're clones! No reason for to be clones, except they had to copy every last part of Moon...except for the whole crux of the clone thing: that they only had a 5 year life span and thought they were going home only to be incinerated and replaced. A voiceover explains that they have been there 5 years, and were going home in 2 weeks. You figure their clone bodies were set to break down and be replaced, but it nothing ever comes of it. It's only there because Moon had the same setup. But then the aliens blow up and Tom Cruise is still alive after 3 years to live forever with his wife. Actually, Tom Cruise blows himself up along with the aliens and lets his clone go fuck his wife, which makes this whole thing one big scientology ad.
