Gravity was the first movie in a long time... by blackwater 11/06/2013, 2:31am PST
that felt like it had a reason to exist.

Most movies in the last 20 years have just been ripoffs of stuff that was done better in the 1970s and 80s. But Gravity is a movie that literally COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE without computer-generated imagery. All the zero-G stuff was an integral part of the movie, and absolutely stunning in the theater.

Also, I like that this movie starts off with the text "there is no sound in space." The only thing that would have made me happier is if they had followed that up with "fuck star trek".
