...is that in GoW the combos have a variety-meter built in already because if you don't use variety then you can't get higher hit numbers.
One contrast you missed: MM said that DMC3 has a cool Hell level, while GoW also has a Hell level that is incredibly weak, especially in comparison to the Bill Dungsroman's Rockitude (kickassity) of every other level. If it was possible to ask a SCEA developer a question I would ask this one: was there ever a meeting where there was a discussion about what kinds of enemies Kratos might find in Hades? If so, I think that everyone that attended that meeting needs some kind of official reprimand. "The same kinds of enemies as Pandora's Temple, but wearing Holocaust Cloaks," is just a big fat failure. Where's Charon? Cerebrus is supposed to be the guardian of Hades... so why wouldn't Kratos have to fight him to get out?
The only thing hellish about GoW's Hades is that it has a lot of jump puzzles in it. There's a shitload of great Greek myths about characters damned to do some thing or other in Hades... are you saving those for the sequel or something? |
