I was mostly asking about that. 'Cause if we read trashy articles and have to think in their terms for however long that has a lot more impact on us than the negligible traffic Caltrops generates. I'm surprised you're putting this out there, is there an epidemic of empty-headed lurkers here that go where you point them in droves and spend heaps of cash on Dragon Age 3? Has Caltrops ceased to be one of the many ends of the internet, are we on an incredibly active site where the bulk of content doesn't come from Doctor Tacos? Not that I mind it happening, but ultimately the massive sucking apparatus that is the gaming industry is going to thrive making trashy shit as long as there is a customer base so we won't do them much harm by cutting out ten or twenty hits, and the same goes for any of the wastes of skin that write or run kotaku. The idea is congruent in all ways to people bitching about where we get our oil from while putting horrible shit into their own bodies and calling it conscious capitalism or whatever - the shit people read on RPS about gender politics and then post here is going to have far more of an effect than the traffic that goes to the source. That's the part people don't seem to give a fuck about when there's four dozen threads on Anita and how much of a bunch of hacks game journos are but nothing much else except the occasional game recommendation which is why I especially liked your videos, they were one of the rare products this place offers - so why are you now paying attention to the burning sewage plant of linkbait when you last told us to turn our faces away and stop our ears, yea verily those are the sirens and even a snatch of their song will end you and your goddamn crew? Why invite that crap in in the first place, why create a 'safe' way relating to their money when it's their influence that's the problem? Your traffic puts a nickel into their pocket, but their shitty writing occupies your cognition for plenty more value. |
