This is why the next most requested feature in racing games, after realistic damage modeling, is always and invariably a fucking rewind button so you can undo the consequences of realistic damage modeling.
Guess what? Racing is an exercise in progressively damaging your car. Tires account for 75% of your simulation, and racing literally melts them off your fucking rim. Top Gear guests have sent wheels flying, for Christ's nitro-burning sake. Clutch plates turn into powder. IT IS WHAT HAPPENS TO CARS. Why the fuck would I not want it simulated if I am trying to simulate racing? What's next on your list of unnecessary racing minutia to go? Friction?
