Sci-fi is always good at creating mysteries and then phenomenally shitty at providing satisfying answers to them, so this was about par for the course. So the engineers created us that then decided to destroy us with some ridiculously improbable Magic Rape Juice, and someone spilled the Magic Rape Juice before they left homebase. Great.
I however really liked David's character. He was like an evil Lt. Commander Data, only infinitely more slimy and not played by a hammy-as-fuck Brent Spiner. I thought he actions made sense: Weyland ordered David to find a way to extend his life by any means necessary, which David took to include experimenting on the crew and forcing confrontation/action. The movie was also, as Eurotrash says, utterly gorgeous and worth seeing on that count alone.
Whenever people starting talking about god all I heard was BLAH BLAH BLAH I'm not watching a damn Aliens movie to speculate on the nature of faith, THANKS. |
