Jesus Christ, somebody fucking post something. OK, here I go.
I will detail my attempts to finance the purchase of a "Funhouse" pinball without having to dip into my checking account for any money. In this thread we can all laugh at my terrible attempts selling things and have a good time.
THE BACKSTORY
There's 15 arcade games down here, with an assortment of game boards ("PCBs") in various corners. I can't keep living like this. I've got PCBs for games that I would never own ("RoadBlasters") games I owned once ("Arkanoid") and boards that I bought when I came to the conclusion that I had too many games ("Bump n' Jump"). I have to get rid of some stuff, but before I do that, I am going to secure the deal for Funhouse.
WHY FUNHOUSE
Well, I wanted a Pat Lawlor-created pinball game and this one was listed for $1500.
DAY ONE
I wrote the guy selling the pin and went to bed. I stretched my flipper fingers though so they'd be ready just in case!
DAY TWO
I received two mails today:
At 7:15 AM:
I buy & Sell 100s of Pinballs each year. I don't plug them in when I purchase or sell.
I do have the legs. I can send you more photos if you like.
Pinballs are sold ASIS.
A play Felid Mylar overlay is available.
Wolf Man
At 9:21 AM:
Call me at (redacted) if interested $1300.00?????
Wolf Man
I didn't check my e-mail until the daily stand-up meeting at 9:30, so I was already ahead two hundred dollars. Score! And yes, this dude calls himself the Wolf Man.
I called him back and we agreed to meet at the storage locker on Friday. I don't have a truck to transport it, but... well, Home Depot rents trucks, right? Do I have to reserve them or can I walk right in? This is an open question I guess. The Wolf Man sent me some pictures of the game and while it's beat up and I have no way of knowing whether or not it runs, it's a great deal for Funhouse and he guaranteed that he would send a tech to my place to fix it if it DIDN'T work.
The Wolf Man also told me that he has no short-term memory because he flat lined a few years ago. This is my kind of pinball broker, friends.
Here are some of the pictures he sent me:
NEXT UP: I try to sell some arcade parts and it all goes horribly wrong.
