Fresh off your metaphor for income inequity, here you are shacking up with the 1% less than a month later, thankful that they trickle down unlocks at all!

Because I think all the base guns are still pretty good and, unlike BF2142, you at least start out with a grenade, so I don't extend my rich-get-richer complaint to the classes. The first shotgun you unlock at rank 1 is the best pump shotgun in the game, the second sniper rifle is the most widely used, and some support players prefer the first US LMG even after unlocking the rest, etc. They did an OK job of not top-loading the weapon unlocks, I think.

The air vehicle unlock system is flat out broken, though, as it removes basic offense and defense abilities from the noobs. It would be like removing the grenade, pistol and some health from starting infantry players.

Here I am making the mistake of changing classes during a round based on what the team needs at that moment instead of putting my bootstraps to the grindstone.

As pointed out, your mixed-class game got you 1/6th of the way to the defib. Not much of a grind.

There's a LOT to complain about with Battlefield 3, but you've picked some wrong, whiny things.
