Pure casters are manageable in the early levels if you get 2-handed destruction casting+the destruction perk that staggers dude when you cast a 2-handed spell at them. Just bring a companion and a pet and kite all day. Pure casters are dominant in later levels with illusion and alteration reducing every fight to flailing on paralyzed or feared enemies.
All of the nasty beasts, like bears and trolls, become simple to manage with the Block perk that slows down time when enemies power attack, giving you an easy counter. Sometimes this won't be manageable: in situations with multiple enemies, or maybe against a bandit chief with a 2-hander. In this case fall back on summons/companions to tank, or werewolf form, or potion cheese, or any number of the other GAME BREAKING STRATEGIES that make this such an uninspiring experience in the end. |
