The reason I suggested this is because I have the same problem on my new Asrock Vision 3D HTPC with onboard wifi, except it was never better to begin with.
Wifi signal is poor to the point of nonexistence, despite other devices right next to it having great signal. Also a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard&mouse set had unreliable connection despite being only 6-7 feet from the USB dongle plugged directly into the front of the PC.
Placing a 5' extension cable between the computer and the mouse dongle solved the input lagginess completely, where before there'd be loss of connection every few seconds.
So it seems the computer is its own small wifi deadspot. Why, I have no idea of. |
