Convincing Sarif to spill the beans tells you something you already knew if you're not an idiot
Oh come on. Not true at all. And the reason is because his explanation is fucking retarded.
They had to keep an open line into their network because some private investigator was doing background checks on Jensen? That's so dumb I felt Sarif was simply lying. It doesn't make a shred of sense.
Look, I've hired private eyes plenty of times in the past, psh. When you're internet dating, you can never be too careful. I stopped because they kept putting their dick in the pie. But look, they never needed a VPN tunnel into my computer. Did I miss something? I feel I missed something, Wittgenstein. I thought the open network line was for Sarif streaming the Tigers' games at 4096x4096 and just assumed Jensen was a Padres fan. Here's what I feel I missed:
1) What I took from the scene was that Sarif kept a VPN or Active Directory account open for his investigator. Do I have this wrong? Christ I need to find a Deus Ex wiki.
2) You're telling me that this convoluted explanation which is indefensible coming from a computer game company was something every player should have guessed.
So there's some disconnect.
I do like that Sarif apparently runs background checks and is embarrassed by it. tough. He's the CEO with the heart of a teenage anarchist. Also, I left to assume that the three people in the office who are neuropozyne junkies passed their background check piss tests by using the "Extra Auxiliary Cock" aug. That's probably their version of having nerf gun wars around the office: they squirt their backup cocks that piss clean at each other.
