How things have worked out. by Quétinbec 06/18/2010, 8:08am PDT Shortly after I bought my ticket to Thailand, Claire told me she needed $2,000 if I wanted her to join me. I would have gone to South America, but she invited me to Thailand and then now says her Dad doesn't approve of her going with me so she isn't comfortable asking him to bankroll the trip. She waited until after I bought my ticket to tell me that. I was upset, but I kind of agreed to lend her the money. Such a stupid move, but it doesn't matter anyway because last night her Dad forbid her from going outright because it's "too dangerous" at the moment. I didn't know how to deal with that, so after saying very little for a while I hung up and went for a swim. I haven't heard from her since. I wanted to try to be a good person and find someone to settle down with because i'm 28 going on 29 and now, instead, I'm spending 5 weeks ALONE in Thailand. How the fuck does that happen. I went to the Middle East to get away from Asia and Asians. Irene lost her job. She called me today. She's thinking about holidaying in Brisbane to see if it's a place she'd like to live. I invited her to come to Thailand. She said she'd think about it. I'm not sure if I even want her to come because I don't want to marry her because she's too old. I'd invite her to Bahrain too, except I'd be embarrassed by her. How pathetic.
