This is helpdesk stuff. But yes, these things are essentially the same. Right now we use the same software the developers use, which is fine. Or, it seems fine to me. But I guess we want better email support -- submitting tickets via email is currently not possible. Note: this WAS possible in RT, which we had and which was ALSO FINE. I'm obviously way easier going about this than my boss. :(
