Nope. You're correct. It never gets more interesting for the next couple issues. The whole Washington monument scene just keeps getting endlessly looped. "Downtime" moments consist of the main character making horrible pop culture and literature witticisms.

All the conflict stems from someone being impossibly stupid. They need to get from Boston to California, manage to get on a train that would take them straight there only the scientist (she's half JAPANESE ^____^) has a panic attack and tackles the agent because she draws a GUN on some bandits, allowing them to throw the main character off the train. The main character learns that the friendly town that took him in is made up of ex cons, so instead of not saying anything and riding out his lucky break, storms into the house screaming that they're all criminals and need to be locked up again because they haven't paid their debt to society. Then they're ambushed by a gang while helpless because scientist chick left all the agent's weapons behind because it would mean touching an icky gun.

So basically the comic is nothing but an alternation between a Questionable Content strip and the map scene from Blair Witch.
