I've been taking a poll among my friends and am curious to see a larger sample size. One of my male friends hasn't cried in 20 years and is worried about it.

I am male and I cry all the time. Maybe 2-3 times a week. It feels like a very healthy thing to do.

Two or three times a week, more often if I'm watching a lot of good movies or reading a lot of moving books. Sometimes I weep at my own story ideas which always makes me feel like a jackass, because I'm inevitably in public when I decide to start brainstorming these sorts of things up.

I get misty eyed quite frequently over all sorts of moving, sappy stuff. Usually books or movies but sometimes just by forming ideas in my head. That latter is probably fodder for another thread altogether and I'll be damned if I'm going to start it.

I did out-and-out sob most recently at watching a movie on DVD at home recently. Marley and Me. The scenes at the end with the dad and the kids and the dog. Gutted me. (I am misting up even as I am typing this... wow, am I a softy.)

I just remembered, the only time I've seen my brother cry was at the memorial service of a 17 year old we both babysat growing up. He out and out sobbed - I'd never seen anything like it before. I had been crying for days.
