I'm not saying the actors are high; I'm saying they were when they conceived the film and it was captured directly by an Imaginox from the future. Jeez. You once roomed with a girl and threatened to report her to the authorities when she offered you some dope, so of course you'd want to preclude others from shorthandedly describing what, to you, must be enigmatic.

The movie isn't even wacky in a traditional sense, it's more a byproduct of wackiness, and so I wanted to describe the state of mind where people would brainstorm ideas like having rhinestone-studded fish, and monogrammed Century-21 sales rep sweaters, and baby blue captain's shirts with felt epaulets, and an evil sea explorer who works from a yacht with a chorus line of stauesque dudes in speedos.

I could say all that, or I could say "high" and most everyone would get it. I'll grant you the term is overused, but not by me.
