Who was it that recommended Beyond Good & Evil? by Fullofkittens 12/30/2004, 6:06pm PST
I think the big BG&E appreciation thread disappeared inside Veronica's huge stinky gash, but whoever it was that said people should get it (hell, it could have been everyone), thanks, because I got it with my Secret Santa giftcard from work last week, and I just finished it.

HOLY FUCK WAS THAT A FUN GAME.

I can't remember the last time I sat down and played a game for 8 hours straight. There was just no way to stop. The last 2 hours of the game was maybe the best two hours of single player gaming I've had. All the variety and fun gameplay of Ratchet and Clank with a story that actually did make it feel like life and death. Pretty great game.

There's only two demerits for the whole game:

#1: the lack of a jump button made me feel really constrained for some reason. I wanted to lay down some sweet jump-n-staff combos but it's not possible. I guess I am glad they didn't have jumping, though, because if they'd put in jumping they'd have had to put in jumping puzzles. The puzzles they did have were great, and didn't involve precision jumping, which makes them all the greater.

#2: you spend most of the game, not alongside your cool and cute pig uncle, but alongside THE BIGGEST FAGGOT IN THE WORLD. "Carlson and Peters!!!!" SHUT THE FUCK UP DOUBLE H.

Other than those two little minor annoyances I liked everything about this game.
