You really think "Grind Date" surpasses "De La Soul Is Dead"? WHY? I found it less consistent than whichever AOI album had "Oooh" on it (Mosaic Thump? I can never remember). There are a few good tracks (I can listen to "The Future" on loop), but it's woefully unmemorable to me. On a related note, "Buhloone Mindstate" is the one De La album that I can't do without. Completely slept on by a lot of De La fans, but I still consider it their best album. "It might blow up but it won't go pop."
