After I suggested that he maybe didn't put a lot of effort into this lesson, Jhoh spent some more time on it... improving the jacking stick man.



So the vanishing point for the walls is dead center of the picture, where I've extended the green lines. Unfortunately everything else in the room completely ignores that vanishing point. The point of the lesson is that if you make every diagonal line trace back to the original vanishing point, you don't have to eyeball or guess the angles.

The desk is close to a correct perspective, but the vanishing point is up in the... skylight. I think your biggest mistake was erasing the vanishing point of the walls. The vanishing point should be there to constantly remind you of its purpose.

Another trick to keep in mind is that every line that is not diagonal is either perfectly horizontal or vertical. So the bed headboard, for example, could be corrected by simply making those lines vertical. Similarly the foot of the bed should be perfectly horizontal and same for the far edge of the desk.

What's on the desk, a severed head?

You've already told me that art can't be rushed, so take you time with the corrections.
