I just saw this. [Spoilers] by Jerry Whorebach 12/09/2008, 9:32am PST
I thought it would've been funny if he ended up dying in a Jason Voorhees attack, like maybe she's not such a great writer after all? Instead he died in the most perfect way imaginable, saving a small child from being run over by a bus. LOOK OUT HERMAN MELVILLE, THERE IS A NEW GREATEST AMERICAN NOVELIST IN TOWN AND SHE DON'T EVEN GIVE A FUCK. I can just imagine the Dustin Hoffman character renting Slingblade and literally drowning in pathos. He would have to spend the next ten years of his quirky offbeat lifeguard life writing letters to Billy Bob Thornton, wearing Billy Bob Thornton's blood in a medallion, etc.
