There was a preview article written about Far Cry 2 that began with the developers laughing about how forgettable everyone was in the first game. Nobody remembered Jack, the guy in the Hawaiian shirt! I don't know, for some reason he was the only player character since Leon in RE4 that didn't bug me. (And Leon was an AMAZING save on the part of Capcom, I never would have predicted that his character would actually be all right until I played it. I really thought he'd be another Tidus.)
