It's biggest flaw is how much it convinces you that it's casual, until you're sitting alone in your underwear grinding out eyeball cabbages for divine stews or endlessly beating the piss out of a boss hoping for some rare metal to drop. It's pretty great for a commute too! I know most people use their portable gaming systems in front of their computers, but Patapon lets you accomplish things in a few minutes. Doing well in a mini-game can definitely help you out, so there's plenty of reason to whip it out for a second here or there(also you should diversify what you whip out on the subway).
Mostly it's a fucking rhythm game that doesn't require massive memorization, which is a pretty cool thing. However the mountain mini-game is probably the worst addition to any game ever. |
