Recently Quarter to Three poster Demon G Sides was banned for telling me to suck some dick during an argument about RTS games. Sure, he edited his post and apologized, but the damage had been done and he was banned.

Then the QT3 poster tiohn thought it would be funny to reference that post himself, but learned that like 9/11, the wounds are still too fresh. Fortunately there is a routine system now in place for when this happens.

Here's my step-by-step guide to what happens once you've told me to suck some dick:

1) Edit your post to remove the insult.
2) Pray to God someone hasn't quoted your "joke" for posterity.
3) Write me a PM apologizing for your inappropriate actions.
4) At this point I'll tell everyone that you've apologized privately.
5) Stay quiet! The forum will judge you harshly for your misstep, but also charitably make excuses for your actions. (Perhaps you're just stressed from your finals, or you're just too young to know better, etc.) The last thing you want is to start a flame war about this or call more attention to yourself.
6) Think about what you've done.

This doesn't guarantee you won't be banned, but it's the sensible thing to do and ensures that you can come back later if Tom decides you've been punished enough.

What tiohn said was and wasn't funny. Unlike DGS, I knew tiohn was joking, but at the same time, it's probably too sensitive an issue to joke about (at least right now in this context).

So as I said in the above QT3 post, it's probably too sensitive an issue to joke about right now, but let's see how I feel about it a little later. I'm not ruling out the joke forever, but for the immediate future, it's forbidden.
