Dungeons the right way: don't play with people you can't insult over dinner. by Zsenitan 02/18/2008, 9:05pm PST My brother, my brother's special lady friend, and me: we all started characters on Ravenholt, the most RP of the RP servers. (It's also a PVP server, which is bonus gank.) They play Demonology warlocks, I play a BM hunt scheduled to respec to Survival at lvl 70, which, apparently, I'm actually playing all the way till for a change. BECAUSE: we broke the rules of raiding. Dude, the Armory is just not loading right now, so pretend I linked to my character (Lakereek, with pet piggy Trout and pet kitty Nightsoil ^_^.) At 19 we three-manned Wailing Caverns. At 24 we three-manned BFD. At 28 we three-manned Razorfen Kraul. At level 30, we three-manned Scarlet Monastery Graveyard. At 36 we three-manned Razorfen Downs. At 39 we three-manned the entire of SM without a single death. Last night, at 40, we three-manned all of Uldaman except the last boss, which we skipped only because he doesn't drop anything interesting. I couldn't tell you how long this strategy will work for. It seems obviously that we will, eventually, hit a big fuckan wall and be unable to progress without a real tank and a real healer. But our strategy, which relies on spreading the aggro around so widely that the mobs are always running from guy to guy, works so well that the only downtime we ever have is for when I go out of mana. THE WARLOCKS N' HUNTARD THREE MAN INSTANCE STRATEGY: 1. Huntard pulls a dude across a frost trap. That dude is huntard's responsibility. 2. Dude's frosty buddies get tanked by voidwalkers or huntard pet (pigs collect hella aggro.) 3. DOTs go on everything except huntards's dude, unless there's nothing else going on. 4. Huntard kills own guy, then finishes off guys covered in DOTs. Warlocks drain life on anything still standing. 5. Battle is over, and the only party members who have lost any health are the pets. Bosses aren't really any different, except at least one voidwalker will run around collecting adds. My pet will usually die to the boss, but the boss will be at least 50% dead by then and usually more. After that it's all traps, kites, DOTs, and drain life. SM Cath was a cakewalk at 39; we mana drained Whitemane before the rez and she couldn't do anything for the rest of the fight. Uldaman was even easier. Reading Comprehension Questions 1. Why won't the Creex Bros. play with us? They would be great. We could actually USE a shaman. They could play any classes they liked and it would still be beefy as fawk. 2. What the first instance in which we will fuck ourselves by not having a real tank or healer? I'm guessing that it won't be before Scholomance.
