| I opted for the creepy route, naming the character after myself. I expected it to be a little unnerving in the context of a lot of the dating sim parts and other moments, and it did not disappoint.
The doublejump guide was really useful to me as a reference for the fusions and the like, although I expect that gamefaqs has that covered (I just like having a book next to me vs getting up and looking it up on the computer. PROTIP: Pay attention to the days and times people are available, especially if you are playing without the guide. It's not necessary or desirable to try to max out all of them or anything of the sort, but I spent way too much time earlier on with the easily available characters I could have taken care of later, and not enough time dealing with the more annoyingly scheduled people. Or, god forbid, women, who take for goddamn ever + gifts that have to be picked carefully to level at all (the number of Metal Gear exclamation marks indicates roughly how successful that conversation/gift has been on a scale of 1-3)+ it can be dangerous to do them at the same time as other women (very easy to slip to negative). The activities that boost your stats are not best organized as the first impression might indicate (it's not about money, it's about time). Karaoke and the tea place, + studying before you go to sleep if you are not tired, are definitely the way to go because you can do them in the evening when almost no s links are available. Which all probably seems like more work than it's worth, and PSH I'll just play the game straight up and see what happens. That's what I did for most of the game, and then I regretted not engineering a little more carefully later on. The super fusions aren't essential or unlikely to happen to a certain degree without planning, but I feel like I missed out on some bad motherfuckers. Now I'm stuck just shy of beating it, and have gotten sidetracked since. Not because I can't beat it (I'm pretty sure I'd survive) but I'm just a little frustrated with how close I am to completing some of the links and I just...can't....make it in time. I can definitely see replaying it with what I know now and just avoiding the whole new game + shenanigan, especially if the Wii continues to be the Loch Ness monster of retail. But the FES rumors keep me in a holding pattern, because I'm *that* gay. And also, Oblivion sucks. |
