Staticy laptop sound by E. L. Koba 12/09/2007, 1:43pm PST
I'm getting a lot of static coming out of my laptop (Asus G2SA4 w/ Vista) speakers & headphones - especially if there is a lot of bass. It seems to go away if I'm running on battery power, but that might just be my imagination. Is it possible that shitty quality power could cause that (running off 220 from a big ass diesel generator here)? Would a proper quality surge protector help?

Alternative theory: there is tons of RF around me too. I've got the wireless directional antenna pointed directly over my shipping container/house to the tower. Also there are about a billion antenna's of all sorts basically across the road. But, again - seems to go away when running off battery.

And yah, already updated my drivers and tried fucking around with all the setting turning on/off all the enhancements and whatnot.
